- mozzarella cheese - shredded mozzarella is ultra convenient
- pepperoni
- Parmesan cheese - optional
- fresh parsley - optional garnish
How to make tortilla pizza in the oven
Step 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and prepare pizza pan with cooking spray. If using an iron skillet, preheat it first.
Step 2. Spread PIZZA SAUCE evenly over the TORTILLA. Top with MOZZARELLA CHEESE, PEPPERONI, PARMESAN CHEESE, and PARSLEY.
Step 3. Bake pizza for 10 minutes on prepared pizza pan or preheated skillet until cheese is melted and golden brown.
Step 4. Carefully transfer pizza off the bakeware and rest a few minutes to let it set up. Slice and serve warm.
The best pizza oven temperature
A classic pizza using raw pizza dough needs an oven temperature around 500 degrees Fahrenheit to properly cook the dough and toppings. However, tortilla crust pizza only requires a 400 degrees Fahrenheit oven to achieve the perfect balance of heat for both the toppings and the crust.
The best tortillas for pizza
Use any tortillas you want! White flour tortillas are classic, but whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas work too! Use any size tortilla you want. This is what makes the personal pizza so personal!
Recipe tips
- When building the pizza, keep the toppings light to prevent overloading the tortilla.
- Make sure oven is fully preheated to ensure a crispy tortilla crust.
- Bake pizza on a preheated iron skillet or pizza stone for a crispier crust.
- If using other meats, ensure they're fully cooked before adding to the pizza.
- Spread basil pesto over the tortilla before adding sauce for a delicious basil flavor.
- Serve tortilla pizza with yogurt Ranch for a delicious dipping sauce.
