We’re part of Soho House & Co Inc., a global membership platform that connects people through digital and physical spaces that includes Soho House, and we operate properties in LA, Washington DC, Austin, San Francisco, Palm Springs (Saguaro) and New York (The Ned NoMad).

What parking options are available at the hotel?

Valet parking is available at the LINE DC by the day ($35/day plus tax) and overnight ($55/night plus tax). We have limited availability for oversized vehicle ($149/night plus tax).

Is there valet parking? If so, how does the valet parking work?

Yes, valet parking is available at our Champlain Street entrance by the day ($35/day plus tax) and overnight ($55/night plus tax). We have limited availability for oversized vehicles ($149/night plus tax).

Can I leave my car in the parking garage after checking out? Will there be an additional charge?

If a vehicle is in the garage past midnight on departure date, the guest will be charged the overnight parking rate. However, we can sometimes accomodate a car for a couple hours after checkout.

Is there an airport nearby?

Yes. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is 6 miles away, and Dulles International Airport (IAD) is 27 miles away.

What will it cost to hire a cab or town car from the airport to the hotel?

From Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), a car costs around $25; from Dulles International Airport (IAD), it’d be around $70. Prices vary based on traffic, time of day, and the car service used.

Is there a major train/bus station nearby?

The LINE DC is less than a mile away from the Columbia Heights Metro Station (Yellow Line) and Woodley Park Station (Red) —and steps from multiple bus lines.

What’s the best way to get around the city?

Walking, taking Metro, rideshare services like Uber and Lyft, Capital Bike Share, buses, and dockless scooters and bikes from private companies.

Hotel Policies

What are the normal check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is at 3pm, and checkout is at 12pm.

Can I check in early?

Yes, if your room is available. A fee might be required depending on how early you’d like to check in.

How late can we check in?

Guests can check in as late as necessary — with notice — before midnight of their arrival date.

What is required to check-in?

A valid identification document and a credit card.

What type of credit cards are accepted at the hotel?

We accept all major credit cards except prepaid debit cards. We also accept Apple Pay.

Does the hotel accept traveler’s checks as payment?

No.

Can a third party pay for my reservation?

Yes. Please have the third party complete a credit card authorization form at least three days prior to your arrival. Reach out to the reservations team at reservations.dc@thelinehotel.com or call 202-588-0525 to request for the form.

Will my credit card be charged when I make my reservation?

If you chose a prepaid rate, your card will be charged right away. For other rates, a valid credit card is required at the time of booking to guarantee the reservation, but the card is not charged at the time of booking. There are also options to pay later at the hotel.

Does the hotel require any kind of deposit prior to checking-in?

Deposits are required only on prepaid, nonrefudable bookings. Please check the Deposit & Cancellation policies when completing your reservation.

What is your cancellation policy?

Reservations must be cancelled 72 hours before 3pm of your arrival date to avoid cancellation charges (with the exception of non-refundable bookings, which are non-cancellable). For changes made after the cancellation period, one night’s room and tax will be charged.

What is the nonrefundable reservations policy?

If a nonrefundable reservation is to be cancelled, the deposit paid will not returned. If the reservation is booked directly with the hotel, the balance may be apply to a future stay.

What happens if I damage the guest room?

Security will investigate, and guests are responsible for damages. Our smoking fee is $500.

Will I be charged for an early departure?

Early departures without a 48-hour notice will be charged for an early departure fee of one night room and tax.

Is there a limit to how long I can stay?

You may stay at the LINE DC for no more than 28 days. For stays longer than 21 days, please reach out to the hotel directly.

Hotel Amenities

What room options are available at the hotel?

We have a variety of rooms, studios, and suites with a king bed or two queen beds and views of either the monuments or local landmarks. ADA-accessible rooms and suites are also available and are equipped with a roll-in or transfer shower, toilet with grab bars, lower vanity, visual alarm, and notification devices.

Are there smoking rooms? And can I smoke in public spaces?

We do not offer smoking rooms, and smoking is not allowed indoors or within 25 feet of the property. Our smoking fee is $500 for guest rooms.

Do all of your rooms have private baths?

Is there housekeeping service?

Yes.

What type of in-room technology can I expect?

High-speed Wifi, cable TV, Nespresso machine, Tivoli Bluetooth Radio, phone.

I love some of the items in my room, can I purchase them and take home with me?

Yes. Items and their prices are listed in the minibar section of the compendium (scan the in-room QR code to access). The items will be charged to your credit card upon checkout.

Do you have room service?

Yes, in-room dining is available.

Can I have ice sent to my room?

Yes, through in-room dining ($5 charge) or the front desk (no charge).

Are there minibars in the rooms?

Yes.

What room amenities are available at the hotel?

Cable TV, Cowshed bath products, curated minibar, Nespresso machine and coffee pods, high-speed internet, Tivoli radio, bathrobes and slippers, hair dryer.

Can I have my clothes laundered and dry cleaned?

Yes. From Monday to Saturday, we offer same-day service with a 9am pickup and 6pm dropoff. We do not offer laundry services on Sundays.

Do you have a shoe shine service?

No.

How do I schedule a wake-up call?

Please connect with the Front Desk team, and they will arrange a wake-up call for you.

If I am traveling on business, what types of services can you support me with?

We have desks in every guest room and can offer unlimited coffee and discounts at our restaurant.

Do you have a gym or fitness center? If so, what type of equipment can I expect?

Yes. Our fitness center has dumbells, Crossfit equipment, a Peloton bike, rowing machines, free weights, two bikes, three treadmills, a cable machine, and medicine balls.

Where can I securely store my valuables?

We offer a safe in each guest room. Our bellmen can also store extra luggage before check-in or after check-out.

Can I send a package to the hotel?

Yes.

Can I bring my pet to the hotel?

Yes: Pets are welcome at the LINE DC free of charge.

Enhanced cleaning protocol, high-speed Wifi, 24-hour fitness center, priority reservations at hotel restaurants, LEED Silver Certification, in-room Nespresso machine and refills on coffee pods and utensils, 24-hour guest services, guest experience programs (yoga, creative workshops, DJ sets, etc.), and access to a record player and a wide collections of vinyl records upon request and availability.

No Goodbyes is an all-day neighborhood hangout that taps regional farmers, fishers, and small-time ranchers to create an eclectic mix of feel-good dishes morning, noon, and night. Choose your own dining adventure: No Goodbyes encompasses several distinct menus and spaces, including a restaurant, bar, and coffee shop. It also provides our in-room dining.

What activities are there to do at the hotel?

Eat, drink (happy hour is from 3-5pm), work, and lounge in the cavernous space at the center of the hotel — formerly a 110-year-old neoclassical church. People-watch on our front steps and patio, work out at our state-of-the-art fitness center, and enjoy regular programming like co*cktail workshops, yoga, and gong baths. Our Neighborhood Guide is regularly updated, and our front desk team is always on hand to make suggestions.

Which popular attractions are close to the hotel?

The Smithsonian National Zoological Park, Meridian Hill Park, and The Phillips Collection are all close to the hotel. The city’s national monuments and museums are only three to four miles away.

What are some popular restaurants close to the hotel?

Tail Up Goat, Lapis, and Le Mont Royal are favorites. Our front office team can provide a plethora of options in the area.

What are some popular venues close to the hotel?

The Howard Theatre is a mile and a half from the LINE DC.

Opened in late 2017, the Line Hotel occupies a former First Church of Christ, Scientist, which was built in 1912 at the crest of the hill that defines the Adams Morgan neighborhood. The building sits right at the crossroads of 18th Street NW and Columbia Road.
