How do I reserve a room at the Berkeley library? ›

Maximum of 2 hours can be reserved per person per day, for a maximum of 6 hours per week. Reservations must be made with your @berkeley.edu email address. You must confirm your reservation via an email link in order to complete your booking. There is no food allowed in the Engineering Library.

All study rooms can be reserved up to two 2 hours in advance per UCB ID, and are due at :50 of the last hour of the reservation or one hour prior to library closing. The Main (Gardner) Stacks are open to those with a current UC ID, UC Berkeley Library Card, LBNL badge, or Stanford ID.

In addition to requesting materials through their local libraries, the general public, in most cases, may use the collections of the Berkeley libraries within the library building. The public also may register as external users for the privilege of borrowing Berkeley library materials for use outside the library.

Visitors not affiliated with BerkeleyLaw or the University are welcome to use the Library and many of its resources. However, priority service is given to University of California students, faculty and staff. Although unaffiliated visitors may not check out materials, they may use them within the Library.

Admission to UC Berkeley is a two-step process: satisfying requirements and selection. The University does not require any student to live in the residence halls.

UC faculty, graduate students, and academic staff (including UC Berkeley) must inquire with their home institution's library staff for instructions and eligibility prior to visiting Stanford. UC Berkeley faculty and graduate patrons are strongly encouraged to use the Research Library Cooperative Program (RLCP) first.

Reservations for reservable rooms may be made online 2 weeks in advance and for up to 4 hours per week at our reservation system. When reservable rooms are not in use, drop-in users are welcome. Drop-in users must relinquish reservable Group Study Rooms when presented with another group's proof of reservation.

Study Rooms are located on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors and are only available to current UNF students, faculty, and staff. A valid N# and UNF email address is required to place a study room reservation. To make a study room reservation, visit the reservation system.
