Gardner Main Stacks

Group study rooms are available to current UCB students, faculty and staff. Study room keys are available for checkout at the Main Circulation Desk (30 minutes before the Doe building closes, the keys will be transferred to the Moffitt Circulation Desk). A Cal 1 Card (UCB ID) must be presented to check out a room key. All study rooms can be reserved up to two2 hours in advanceper UCB ID, and are due at :50 of the last hour of the reservation or one hour prior to library closing.

The Main (Gardner) Stacks are open to those with a current UC ID, UC Berkeley Library Card, LBNL badge, or Stanford ID.

Room reservations can be made up to 7 days in advance. Any reservation not claimed within the first 15 minutes will be made available to others for the entire duration of the booking.

There are 4 large study rooms which can seat 8-10 people, and 13 small rooms which can seat 4-5 people. Each room has a chalkboard and receives an eduroam signal. The current academic yearStudy Room Agreement Formmust be signed before checking out the key.

How do I reserve a room at the Berkeley library? ›

Maximum of 2 hours can be reserved per person per day, for a maximum of 6 hours per week. Reservations must be made with your @berkeley.edu email address. You must confirm your reservation via an email link in order to complete your booking. There is no food allowed in the Engineering Library.
